the sanctuary of a no man's land

'the sanctuary of a no man's land' was part of the exhibition 'Breathing Space: In Response to 1 Chiltern Street' curated by Rose Lejeune. The other artists involved were Rob Canning, Robin Dingemans, Alex Haw, Cecilia Jardemar, Ben Judd, Amanda Loomes and Mark Wayman.

'the sanctuary of a no man's land' was installed in the basement of a decomissioned fire station. It consisted of an architectural intervention constructed from materials found in the building, three spoken word recordings and three videos played on separate televisions.

Above is an audio and visual documentation of the installation. Below are links to the individual narratives. The words are not my own but those of three individuals that I met above and below a traffic island in the centre of London. The video pieces are also from the traffic island.
